Impressionist & Modern Works on Paper Sale
Sale Overview
David Kleiweg de Zwaan, Head of the Works on Paper Sale, noted, “Modernist works that were fresh to the market commanded strong prices, such as Picasso’s Mousquetaire, buste, which sold for $1.8 million, and Leger’s Nature morte à l'oiseau, which achieved $785,000, again underscoring the strength of the middle market with solid sell through rates. Museum quality works on paper and paintings, such as Camille Pissarro’s La foire de Gisors and Maurice Denis’ The Awakening, were sought after by both private clients and trade alike.”
