The sale of Chinese Export Art totaled $3,034,750/ £1,820,850/ €2,215,368. The top lot was a Rare Set Of Four Large Chinese Export Porcelain Nodding Head Figures, Qianlong Period, which realized $173,000.

Becky MacGuire, Head of Chinese Export Art, commented, “The continued vitality of this classic collecting area was affirmed by the success of today’s sale.  It is exciting to see bidders from around the globe compete for goods that left China centuries ago on sailing ships – and fascinating to see a growing number of lots return to China.  Especially gratifying was the enthusiastic response to the top lot of the sale, the elegant set of four nodding head figures that brought $173,000. Two carefully-formed private collections of famille verte were also keenly appreciated by bidders here and abroad, with many lots exceeding their estimates.”
