The Impressionist and Modern Day Sale realized $27,046,000/£17,038,980/€21,636,800.

David Kleiweg deZwaan, Head of Day Sale, Impressionist and Modern Art, comments: In the Impressionist and Modern Day sale at Christie’s New York, top prices were achieved for paintings by Marc Chagall, Chaïm Soutine and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, with representative works from the peak of the artists’ careers outperforming pre-sale estimates. Sculptures by Alberto Giacometti and Henry Moore also realized strong results, as did Picasso’s Grand vase aux femmes nues, which sold for $521,000 against an estimate of $200,000-300,000.”
