Sale Overview

Our Modern Art sale takes place in Amsterdam on Tuesday 16 December, offering works from international artists that exemplify the revolutionary period 1900–1950. The Modern Art sale focuses on painting, works on paper and sculpture, featuring Northern European masters of Expressionism, Realism and early abstraction. This season’s highlights include important works by Belgian artists Victor Servranckx, James Ensor and René Magritte, a newly discovered painting by Piet Mondriaan, alongside work by the German artists Willi Baumeister, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Philipp Bauknecht and Emil Nolde. Further highlights include striking works by Vincent van Gogh, Paul Delvaux and Ossip Zadkine, a section of Indo-European works of art, and an exceptional selection of works of art from the Estate of Maximilian Schell.
