The auction of Russian Art realised £8,301,150 / $13,032,81 / €10,334,932. The top lot was The Yellow Sultana, 1916, by Léon Bakst (1866-1924) which sold for £937,250 / $1,471,483 / €1,166,876 setting a new world record price for the artist at auction. Elsewhere in the sale, strong bidding led to 6 further record prices, including those for Orest Kiprensky, Karl Hahn and for a work of art by ‘Fabergé and the Imperial Stroganov School.’
