First Open | Online

This year’s surprise First Open online auction in New York kicks off a suite of special online sales designed to adapt to the evolving digital marketplace for post-war and contemporary art. Led by a stellar largescale example of Josef Albers’ classic homages to the square, First Open will also feature contemporary art from the likes of Genieve Figgis, Stanley Whitney and Math Bass. A special highlight of the sale is a poignant and timely conceptual work by Carrie Mae Weems, the proceeds of which will benefit the Center for Refugee Services in San Antonio, TX., among other works that will benefit nonprofit organizations.
