On 26 November 2013, Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels Autumn Auction totalled HK$859,087,250/ US$111,337,708, and was sold 86% by lot and 91% by value, achieving the highest total ever for a jewellery auction in Asia.

Vickie Sek, Director of Jewellery and Jadeite Department, Christie's Asia, said: “Having achieved the highest total ever for a jewellery auction in Asia, the sale saw four jewels sell over US$5 million and 27 jewels over US$1 million. Asian clients bid competitively with collectors from all over the world and helped achieve world record prices for a ruby necklace, an orangy pink diamond and a pair of natural pearl ear pendants.”
