November’s sale of Important Russian Art is led by Aristarkh Lentulov’s vibrant avant-garde Church in Alupka and an exquisite Fabergé hardstone study of hawthorn. Further highlights include important paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky, Aleksei Harlamoff, Ilya Mashkov, Apollinarii Vasnetsov, Nicolai Fechin and Zinaida Serebriakova, alongside a charming collection of Sergei Chekhonin works on paper. The sale will also feature Russian objects of exceptional workmanship, including an important selection of Fabergé from the Estate of His Royal Highness the Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester KG., KT., KP., significant 18th century silver, a Troubetzkoy bronze of Sergei Witte and a rare collection of Russian porcelain, including military plaques.
