Christie’s New York Important Watches of Exceptional Provenance auction offers a finely curated compilation of 137 lots, presented in two evening sales, featuring some of the finest horological masterpieces to appear at auction.

The first evening will present Lots 1-68, which will encompass the conclusion of the Kairos Collection Part III-the finest collection of Patek Philippe contemporary timepieces ever to appear at auction. Curated by a private distinguished collector with a discerning eye for excellence and the ability to acquire the rarest watches. Following Part I in Geneva, and Part II in Hong Kong, the final Part III is to be presented in New York with highlights including the reference 5531R-012, an exceptional 18k rose gold minute repeating world time wristwatch with miniature cloisonné enamel dial, the reference 5950/1A-010, a limited series of just 10 examples, steel cushion-shaped split seconds single button chronograph wristwatch with blue dial and bracelet, and the reference 5740/1G-001, a very rare and attractive perpetual calendar wristwatch with leap year indicator, moon phases and bracelet, and the first example ever to be offered publicly with a dual signature by Tiffany And Co.

The second evening will present Lots 69-137, with a focus on vintage and modern icons including the extraordinarily rare and important Patek Philippe 18k white gold 3448G, “Red Dot,” a newly discovered Rolex steel Daytona reference 6263, MK 1 “Paul Newman Oyster Sotto,” as well as the early and desirable F. P. Journe platinum Chronometre á Resonance with brass movement. Other highlights include historically significant military examples such as the Rolex 3525 ”Monoblocco,” the personal watch of RAF Lt. Gerald Imeson worn as a “POW,” instrumental in the planning and execution of “The Great Escape,” 24 March, 1944.

Finally, this auction salutes the 50th Anniversary of the Audemars Piguet “Royal Oak”. Highlights offered include the celebrated reference 5402 “A-Series”, and culminates with the impressive and highly desirable platinum skeletonized perpetual calendar Ref. 25636PT.
