Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale

As part of our landmark 20/21 auction series, Christie’s is delighted to present our Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale on 21 March 2024. The auction will offer an exciting array of works, showcasing the breadth and diversity of British art in the 20^th and 21^st centuries.

Following on from our highly-successful auctions in 2023, the auction will bring together paintings, works on paper and sculpture from across this dynamic period. The auction will be led by a remarkable group of works formerly in the Collection of Ralph Ehrmann, chairman of Airfix, which echo his excitement and passion for the changing post-war world. The includes works by leading artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Bryan Winter and Tom Wesselmann. Further highlights include a selection of paintings from the collection of Peter Adam, alongside which we will present striking works by Cedric Morris, Cornish mariner-turned-artist Alfred Wallis and William Turnbull.
