The October sale of Photographs in New York features over 200 exciting examples of modern and contemporary photography by such preeminent artists as William Eggleston, Frederick Evans, Erwin Blumenfeld, and Roy DeCarava. Highlights include stunning examples from some of the medium’s most respected artists, such as Edward Weston and Irving Penn. Among these is an exceptionally rare complete set of The North American Indian, Edward S. Curtis's ambitious 20-volume, 20-portfolio record of North American Indian life and culture, as well as a beautiful and unique photogram by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, offered on behalf of the artist's estate. This sale is preceded on October 3rd by Into Africa: Photographs by Peter Beard.
