The March sale of Post-War and Contemporary Art features works that negotiate new relationships between medium and representation, challenging new ways of seeing and thinking.
Showcasing a Jannis Kounellis sculpture, an iconic example of Arte Povera, this sale features a strong selection of works from Abstract Minimalism comprising important paintings, sculpture and works on paper by artists such as Günther Förg, Bob Law and Mary Heilmann. The sale will further explore important conceptual works and remnants of performance by artists such as Daniel Buren, Vito Acconci, Joseph Beuys, Gillian Wearing, and Gilbert & George.
In addition to the works from the celebrated Collection of Erik Mosel and Andrea Tschechow, the sale presents a selection of works being sold to benefit the Whitechapel Gallery.
