Saara Pritchard, Head of Afternoon Sale declared: This afternoon session of Post-War and Contemporary art was electric with bidders from 26 countries competed to secure works at all price levels. In particular, rare and never-before seen works by Sturtevant (lots 509, 510, 511) achieved soaring prices. 6 works were sold above $1 million and important records were set for artists such as Kerry James Marshall (lot 443) doubling the pre-sale estimate when sold at $1 million and Keltie Ferris (lot 537) at $106,250. Top material from living artists continues to attract new buyers and achieve greater price points.
