Prints & Multiples
Sale Overview
This September, Christie’s Prints & Multiples sale seamlessly stretches across the most important art movements of the Western world to offer a wide selection of works, spanning from the late 19th century to the present day.
Modern highlights include the rare complete set of Pablo Picasso’s Dix Pochoirs, Edvard Munch’s On the Bridge and a significant selection of Henri Matisse graphics from the estate of Jacquelyne Miller Matisse. From the post-war period, the sale features a rare set of Cretti from Italian polymaterialist, Alberto Burri.
The sale showcases iconic American Pop Art screen prints from the second half of the 20th century, including Robert Indiana’s Book of Love, Roy Lichtenstein’s Red Lamp and early and late masterpieces by Andy Warhol: among them, complete sets of Electric Chairs and Trucks, a Queen Elizabeth II (pink), a Red Lenin and single plates from his most desirable series Soup Cans and Mao, as well as The Star, and Mickey Mouse, from Myths.
The Contemporary selection includes, prominently, works by the prolific German Abstract master Gerhard Richter (Uranium and Heni Editions), flanked by the leading exponents of the International Art scene, such as Christopher Wool (My House I, II, III), William Kentridge, Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, Julian Opie and emerging talents such as David Shrigley.
Highlights on view at King Street from 17th – 27th September. For further details, please contact:
