Christie’s is proud to present “Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Zhang Xinjia”, which offers a selection of works from distinguished private collections globally, and features outstanding paintings and calligraphy ranging from Classical and Modern, through to the Contemporary period. 

The Collection of Zhang Xinjia consists of paintings and calligraphy by Zhang Daqian and Zhang Shanzi to their beloved niece and daughter. These artworks have been under her careful stewardship in loving memory of her uncle and present the largest collection of Zhang Daqian’s private writing to ever appear in the market to date since the artist's passing in 1983. These personal gifts are not only invaluable treasures to scholars and connoisseurs, they also bore witness to the dynamic history of China in the 20^th Century.

Furthermore, this online sale offers exceptional collections of which one formerly belonged to Mr. Wang Lieh Hsien of Singapore and others to Hong Kong collectors, including works by superb Modern and Contemporary Ink artists. This sale also brings together magnificent works by renowned modern artists such as Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Feng Zikai, Huang Yongyu, and Contemporary artists such as Li Huayi, Tseng Yuho, and Lui Shou-Kwan.
