Christie’s is pleased to present Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century, a thematic sale featuring quintessential images of New York City from the early 1900s through to the 1950s. The sale includes photography from artists such as Berenice Abbott, Alfred Stieglitz and Lewis Hine, and prints from artist’s such as Edward Hopper, George Bellows and Martin Lewis. Highlights include an extensive selection of boxing lithographs by George Bellows.

Tales of the City opens for online bidding on 8–18 August. A selection of sale highlights will be on view at our Rockefeller Center galleries from 11–15 August.
