The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Volume 3 | English and European Furniture, Porcelain and Silver, Day Sale

On 22 October, Christie’s will present Volume 3 of The Ann and Gordon Getty Collection, the third in a series of landmark auctions of the Getty’s storied San Francisco interior sold to benefit the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation for the Arts, dedicated to the support of arts and science organisations.

Known for her discerning taste and love of the eclectic, Ann, along with her husband, the philanthropist and composer Gordon Getty, built one of the most important collections of fine and decorative arts in the last fifty years. Volume 3 contains furniture and decorative arts drawn from the carefully curated ground floor rooms of the Getty home. Highlights include a series of English chairs with outstanding provenance, lacquer furniture of the Eighteenth Century, European porcelain dinner services and figures, and English and American silver.
