Highlights of the 13 November sale include a pair of Royal ‘fauteuils d'angle' by Georges Jacob delivered in 1784 to the Comtesse de Provence at château de Montreuil (lot 12); a magnificent mahogany table à écrire by the ébéniste Jean-Henri Riesener provenanced to 1932 in the collection of Monsieur George Blumenthal (lot 14); Japanese lacquer and vernis Martin lacquer bureau by Jacques Dubois supplied to the marquise de Pompadour (lot 110), , from the collection of Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza (lots 57 & 109-127); portrait miniatures of Napoleon Bonaparte (lot 151) and Charles James Fox (lot 152) by Henry Bone R.A; a George III dressing-commode attributed to William Gomm (lot 217) from Lord and Lady Samuel of Wych Cross and thence by descent to the late Geoffrey and the Hon. Carole Lawson, Stilemans, Surrey; Chinese Export reverse mirror paintings from the collection of Raine, Countess Spencer (lots 259 - 261); Sir Philip Sassoon’s antiquarian japanned and stumpwork overmantel mirror from the collection of the Late Lord and Lady John Cholmondeley (lot 266); a Regency circular library table provenanced to The 5th Earl Temple, Newton Park, Bath (lot 281); Captain Browne’s H.M.S. Victory tea caddy (lot 308); A William IV wine cooler formerly belonging to Edward James, West Dean (lot 309).
