The Pavilion Sale - Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art

The Pavilion Sale - Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art

Sale Overview

Since the first launch of The Pavilion Sale in 2014 in Hong Kong, it has been dedicated to assembling fine Chinese works of art across dynasties and categories. Following its success for the past three seasons, Christie’s is delighted to announce the upcoming Pavilion Sale in April with a range of exceptional Works of Art and the debut of the Chinese paintings category in the sale.

Among a wide array of porcelain, jades, bamboo, lacquer, bronze and other works of art, also on offer this season is a specially curated selection of Song ceramics encompassing various kilns across China. With spectacular glaze colours and forms, these pieces, including tea bowls, ewers, vases and incense burners, not only showcase the subtle aesthetics distinct to Song ceramics; they also allow contemporary collectors to integrate the concepts of tea brewing, flower arranging, incense burning and painting appreciation into their modern lifestyle, reliving the ‘Four Arts of Life’ celebrated by Song dynasty literati.

In addition to the existing categories, the Pavilion sale will also present a group of classical Chinese paintings for the first time; providing collectors diverse choices to enrich their collection with artworks of different media.

Offered at accessible estimates, The Pavilion Sale continues to serve as the perfect platform for emerging as well as seasoned collectors to build their distinctive collection of quality Chinese art.
