Lot Essay
With original fitted burgundy leather presentation box numbered 2395 and stamped Breguet Père et Fils Quai de l'Horloge du Palais No. 79.
The Montres Etablissement Mixte were sold under Breguet's own name but are not recorded in the general numbering series. He describes them as "made outside our workshops but to our designs and under our supervision". These watches are amongst the few examples bearing Breguet's signature without necessarily reflecting his style. It is thought that they were supplied to meet a demand that his workshop could not fulfil (see The Art of Breguet by George Daniels, p. 34, and lot 380 in this auction).
