Le bec verseur décoré à l'intérieur de volutes dorées à motifs floraux, et à l'extérieur de feuilles d'acanthe, le registre supérieur du corps orné d'une procession de putti, le registre inférieur illustrant Moïse debout devant l'armée se noyant dans la mer ; sur un pied circulaire évasé orné de volutes dorées à motifs floraux et d'un troupeau d'animaux grotesques; légères craquelures, usure à la dorure et restaurations

A PARCEL-GILT POLYCHROME ENAMEL EWER DEPICTING THE DESTRUCTION OF PHARAOH'S ARMY
ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN COURT, CIRCA 1575-1600
With a broad spout decorated on the inside with gilt foliate scrolls and to the outside with acanthus leaves, the upper section of the body decorated with a procession of putti, the lower section with Moses standing in front of Pharaoh's army drowning in the sea, on a circular spreading foot with gilt foliate scrolls and a band of grotesque beasts; minor cracks, wear to gilding and restorations

The present ewer is closely related to an example belonging to the Municipal Museum of the Bishopric of Limoges, discussed in the recent publication on enamels by Veronique Notin (loc. cit.).
