Large octavo (185 x 255 mm). Approximately 200 black and white photographs. (Faint spotting on the first and last leaf.) Original red cloth, spine and front cover blocked in blue, top edge black, black endpapers, original photo-illustrated dust-jacket (small chips and some short tears, some of these repaired, some wear). Provenance: 'Y.P.W.' (bookplate, obscured by the jacket, with the motto 'iniqui temporis oblivio').

FIRST EDITION, IN THE RARE DUST-JACKET. Richter's influential study of Surrealism and Dada in film and photography, reproducing, along with Richter's own, work by Léger, Man Ray, Eisenstein, Renoir, Pudovkin, and others. Fotografia Publica, p.206; The Open Book, pp.80-1.
