The present pair of banquettes is most closely related to the oeuvre of François-Honoré-Georges Jacob (1770-1841), dit Jacob-Desmalter. Meslée' - stamp used by the firm of 'Jacob-Desmalter', firm run by François-Honoré-Georges and Georges Jacob père between 1803 and 1813 - was sold at Sotheby's, Zurich, 13-14 December 2001, lot 398.
