Lot Essay

The initials are probably those of Grand Duchess Elizaveta Mavrikievna (1865-1927), born Princess Elisabeth of Saxe-Altenburg, who married Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich, the grandson of Emperor Nicholas I, in 1884.
