MARK OF WILLIAM COMYNS, LONDON, 1902
Rectangular and on four scroll bracket feet, the cover and sides boldly cast and chased with putti, birds, scrolls and foliage on a matted ground, engraved with a crest and inscription, marked on flange and cover
14 in. (36 cm.) wide
The crest is that of Pearson for Weetman Harold Miller Pearson, later 2nd Viscount Cowdray (1882-1933).

The inscription reads 'Presented to W. H. Pearson Esqr. by the servants of Paddockhurst and 16, Carlton House Terrace, on his 21st. Birthday April 18th 1903.'
