Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond and ruby hour markers and case with 43 diamonds of 0.50 carats and 43 rubies of 0.80 carats in 1954 and its subsequent sale on July 21st of the next year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe presentation box.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.

The present watch is the second known example in pink gold. Production of the reference 600 began in 1933, and it was made in all four metals, with a variety of dial designs. The present example, with ruby and diamond-set numerals and case is a rare example of one of the most popular pocket watches produced by the company, featuring a timeless yet modernist design.
