The present reference 6538 is a spectacular example from 1958, with a very charismatic tropical dial and gilt lettering. Originally finished in galvanic black lacquer, the dial has aged well over the last 50 years and now features several shades of brown, almost with a slight marbling effect that captivates the eye. The gilt lettering and outer hashmarks really stand out against the brown colors of the dial, and are further enhanced by the silver-white lettering of the depth rating.
