Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1952 and its subsequent sale on February 16th of the following year.

Patek Philippe launched the reference 1593 in 1944 and it was mostly available in gold with few examples in platinum. The present watch is a fine example of this reference, featuring a rare retailer's signature.

The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by M. Huber & A. Banbery, second edition, pages 128 & 129, as well as page 141.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
