With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 2002 and its subsequent sale on November 13th of the same year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated July 21, 2003.
Patek Philippe has a rich tradition of producing wristwatches for women, often taking design inspiration from classic men's watches. In the late 1990's, Patek Philippe released the first ladies Moon Phase wristwatch, expanding the line of complicated wristwatches for women. Patek Philippe acknowledged that women choose a watch based on their style of life, and some women would choose a manually wound wristwatch over a self-winding or quartz movement. The reference 4905 was launched in 2000, and was available with either a mechanical hand-wound movement, while the reference 4906 was available with a quartz movement. The present watch is a fine example of the reference 4905 with a mechanical movement, for the lady who appreciates mechanical mastery in a discreet and fashionable timepiece.
To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
