Circular mechanical movement, 18 jewels, white matte dial, Roman numerals, blued steel hands, inner railway minute divisions, platinum and 18K gold case, rounded corners, raised bezel, cabochon sapphire-set crown, gold back secured by four gold screws in the sides, platinum buckle, dial signed Cartier, movement signed European Watch and C° Inc.

The present watch is a fine and early example of Cartier's very first "true" wristwatch, e.g. the first wristwatch in the history of watchmaking conceived to be strapped onto a wrist: the "Santos Dumont", designed in 1904 by Louis Cartier for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont.
