A SMALL YAOZHOU CELADON CONICAL BOWL
JIN DYNASTY, 12TH-13TH CENTURY
The sides flare from the small ring foot to the slightly everted rim, and the interior is molded with two ducks swimming amidst the stems of lotus plants and grasses, all against a ground of waves. The bowl is covered inside and out with a glaze of greenish-olive color.
3 ½ in. (9 cm.) diam.
