Lot Essay

In 2011, Francois Paul Journe created the very exclusive "Black Label" line, available in Geneva, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Boca Raton. The name "Black Label" refers to the black colour of the dial. Each boutique could order a maximum of only 12 pieces per year from among the Tourbillon Souverain, Chronomètre à Résonance, Chronomètre Souverain, Octa Réserve de Marche, Octa Calendrier, Octa Lune and Octa Automatique, but could only sell a maximum of two pieces per model. Prospective buyers of the Tourbillon Souverain model were required to be personally approved by Mr. Journe himself. To the best of our knowledge the present watch is only the second example of an F.P. Journe Black Label Tourbillon Souverain to be offered at auction.
