Lot Essay

The present watch is a Rolex Daytona reference 116520 featuring the in-house Rolex chronograph movement with the designation caliber 4130, which Rolex released in 2000 and succeeded the preceding caliber 4030 that was a modified Zenith El Primero movement. Notably, the caliber 4130 changed the layout of the registers, placing the seconds register above 6 o’clock instead of to the right of 9 o’clock. It is preserved in excellent condition.

The present watch has an interesting printing variation of the COSMOGRAPH text where the "APH" letters are slightly separated from the preceding letters and the word is in a slightly different font than other examples of this reference.
