Lot Essay

The present Heuer Autavia is one of the exceedingly rare olive PVD-coated examples of the model to appear in public. Believed to have been supplied mainly to military forces and consequently featuring the relevant markings to the case back, examples destined for civilian use, such as the present watch, are extremely rare. This Autavia furthermore impresses with its well-preserved overall condition and the presence of the original bracelet. Because of the rhodium-plating, this model doesn't feature any serial number. The present reference 111.603 is from the very last vintage Autavia series launched in 1985.

Other models of reference 111.603 are illustrated and described in Heuer Autavia Chronographs by Richard Crosthwaite & Paul Gavin, pp. 178-179.
