Lot Essay

The vintage Heuer Monaco model was made in a variety of series. Apart from the different reference numbers, there are at least 13 different dial variants known.

Reference 74033B was launched in 1974 and features the same dial layout as the very first Monaco ref. 1133B, the famous “Steve McQueen”, however differing by a slimmer case, winding crown positioned to the right side and a manual-wound calibre 7740 movement.

One of the rarest example of the vintage “Monaco” family, it is believed that ref. 74033B was made in an exceedingly small series only. The present watch is a particularly well-preserved example of this rare model.
