Fishing Alone in the Mountains

Formerly in the collection of Wu Yunzhai. Wu Yunzhai (1886-1962) was a noted financier and collector. Born in Zhenjiang, he attended the Nanyang Public School in Shanghai with Li Shutong (Hong Yi, 1880-1942) and Qian Xinzhi (1885-1958), and later studied business at Waseda University in Japan. While working at the Jincheng Bank in Shanghai, Wu met Li Zulai, a close friend of Zhang Daqian, who introduced him to various important artists.
