From 1906 until the 1920s, Audemars Piguet manufactured approximately thirty-five minute repeating wristwatches, including the cushion-shaped minute repeating wristwatch made especially for John Wallace Shaeffer, Vice President of the Allied Chemical Corporation, located in Morristown, New Jersey. Realizing his name consisted of twelve letters, the famous industrialist asked Audemars Piguet to customize his repeater, and this was the watch that inspired the "John Shaeffer" series, launched in the 1990's.
Part of this celebrated "John Shaeffer" series of complicated wristwatches in cushion-shaped cases, the present watch is number one in an extremely limited series, made all the more alluring with its titanium case, white dial and elegant Breguet numerals.
