Cette oeuvre unique de l’Opéra Royal de Londres réalisée par la photographe Joanna Vestey est vendue au profit d’une initiative de collecte de fonds ambitieuse, Custodians for Covid, créée dans le but de récolter de l’argent afin de soutenir les institutions d’art touchées par l’épidémie. Basée à Oxford, Joanna Vestey, en collaboration avec Tara Rowse, a produit une série des vingt photographies, chacune figurant un théâtre londonien affecté et représentant les gardiens chargés d’en prendre soins pendant ce temps de crise. Lancée en juillet, cette collection explore des thèmes comme l’héritage, l’intendance, l’identité ou la préservation du lieu, qui sont d’autant plus poignants étant donné l’isolation et l’incertitude auxquelles tant de personnes font face dans les temps actuels. Ces photographies sont vendues en éditions limitées afin de récolter des fonds pour chaque théâtre.
