The unmistakable sporting carbon fiber dial with red subsidiaries of this striking white gold cased chronograph is immediately recognisable as one of Girard-Perregaux’s Ferrari editions. This watch, made specially to celebrate the 2000 F1 World Championship is personally dedicated to the present owner and is number 5 of the edition of 250 pieces.

Girard-Perregaux made watches in collaboration with Ferrari between 1993 and 2004. Ferrari had been looking for a watch brand to become a partner who were worthy of the Ferrari legend in both design and technology. Girard-Perregaux were chosen due to the personal connection of the owner of GP and the then President of Ferrari. The partnership became ‘Girard-Perregaux for Ferrari’ and began manufacturing small highly exclusive limited editions for Ferrari, in particular, to celebrate F1 championships and the release of new Ferrari models. These watches gained a cult following among collectors and Ferrari fans, reflecting the prestige and exclusivity of Ferrari whilst at the same time the buyer had the reassurance of owning a watch made by the great watch house of Girard-Perregaux.
