etching, 1896, on grey laid paper, without watermark, signed in pencil, titled and inscribed 6e ètat - no 1, a fine, unique proof impression of Delteil's sixth state (of seven; Delteil records only one impression of each previous state, five lifetime impressions of the final state, and a posthumous edition of twelve), printing with a light tone and inky plate edges, an inky thumbprint at the right plate edge outside the borderline, the full sheet, with deckle edges at right and below, in very good condition
