SIGNED BOVET FLEURIER, NO. 1, CIRCA 1992

In 1991, the Bovet brand was re-established by new owners, André Michel and Michel Parmigiani. The present watch is number 1 of a limited edition of 10 watches that were made at the very beginning of the new Bovet era, it is also the first watch of that series and therefore the first watch to be produced by the new company. In designing this new ‘Fleurier’ model, inspiration was taken from Bovet’s historic pocket watches of the 19^th century to create a version for the wrist that continued Bovet’s DNA. With the crown above 12 o’clock beneath a massive stirrup-shaped bow for attaching the strap, at the 6 o’clock position an almost hidden lug provides the now instantly recognizable Bovet award-winning style that has distinguished the company’s watches ever since. In hommage to Bovet’s association with the Chinese market, the present watch features blued steel serpentine hands and transparent back displaying the profusely engraved movement with pearl set rotor edge. The automatic movement is no less illustrious, being made by Frédéric Piguet and personally finished and decorated by Michel Parmigiani himself.

Bovet was originally founded in 1822 and was famed for their luxury pocket watches with artistic flair. The brand was re-established in 1994 and has stayed true to Bovet's original aesthetics and heritage of pocket watches whilst incorporating modern design and materials. Owned since 2006 by Pascal Raffy, Bovet’s acquisition of the renowned manufacture Dimier 1738 has allowed the company to create their watches in-house and to develop the exciting and innovative timepieces that perpetuate the excellence of the Bovet name.
