Maria Los
Deputy Chairman, Head of Client Advisory Americas
BIOGRAPHY
Maria C. Los, Deputy Chairman & Head of Client Advisory Americas, works with many of Christie’s most important clients who buy and sell at auction as well as privately. Collaborating closely with her specialist colleagues, she ensures that these collectors are advised effectively. Maria’s longstanding international client relationships have also contributed to several significant cross-departmental consignments for the firm. Maria joined Christie’s in 1996 as an account manager assistant in the Estates, Appraisals & Valuations Department. She went on to spend ten years in Client Advisory followed by two years in the Jewelry Department. She was promoted to the Chairman’s Office in 2009, relaunched Client Advisory in 2011 and was named Deputy Chairman in 2014. Prior to joining Christie’s, she worked at the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, D.C. in their Visual Artists Fellowships Program. Maria received her B.S. in French and Italian and her M.A. in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University.

Margot Rosenberg
Deputy Chairman
BIOGRAPHY
Margot Rosenberg, Deputy Chairman, joined Christie’s Chairman’s Office in 2011 . With over a twenty year tenure in the auction business, working both as a specialist and with clients, Margot’s experience and relationships contribute to her success in advising some of Christie’s top clients. Margot works collaboratively with colleagues across platforms in helping collectors with transactions both privately and at auction. Prior to joining the Chairman’s Office, she was Head of American Decorative Arts and has appeared regularly as an appraiser on PBS’s Antique Roadshow. Margot holds a BA in Art History from Emory University.

Jennifer Wright
Vice President, Client Relationship Director
BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer Wright is a Vice President and Client Relationship Director in the Client Advisory group of the Chairman’s Office at Christie’s, New York where she manages and develops a portfolio of the firm’s top clients across all collecting categories. She joined Christie’s in 2006 and until September 2016 worked in Christie’s Old Master Drawings Department, most recently as Head of Department in New York. As a member of the Old Master Drawings Department she participated in the sale of Raphael’s Head of a Muse, which sold for £29,000,000 in 2009, the world record price for a drawing at auction at the time. In 2013 Jennifer was Head of Sale for the highest-grossing various owners Old Master Drawings sale in Christie’s history, and in recent years she has also developed a successful private sale business for the department. She is also a charity auctioneer. Prior to joining Christie’s, Jennifer worked as a research assistant in the Prints and Drawings department at the Morgan Library where she worked on the collection catalogue of the Library’s French drawings, and was also gallery director for a prints and drawings dealer in New York. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History at Georgetown University in 1996 and received the award for Outstanding Senior Thesis in Art History. She earned a Master’s degree in Fine and Decorative Art from Sotheby’s Institute in 1998, and a Master of Arts degree from New York University’s Institute of Fine Art in 2006. She is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; a member of the Council of Fellows at the Morgan Library, and a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection. She is a member of the Georgetown College Board of Advisors, and is also the founder and chair of the patrons group for the Georgetown de la Cruz Art Gallery.

Christine Layng Aschwald
Vice President, Client Relationship Director
BIOGRAPHY
Christine Layng Aschwald is a Vice President and Client Relationship Director in the Client Advisory, Chairman’s office team where she is responsible for managing relationships with collectors who transact in a variety of categories. Christine started at Christie’s in 2006 in the 19th Century European Paintings department and later transitioned to serve as Executive Assistant to Chairman, Stephen S. Lash. In 2011, Christine joined the Client Advisory team in New York. In 2016, Christine relocated to Christie’s San Francisco office to focus on cultivating new buyers across the West Coast. She is now back in New York and continues to advise many of the firm’s top American clients on auctions, private sales and appraisals. With over twelve years of art market knowledge and experience, Christine’s goal is to build long lasting client relationships and ensure smooth interactions for Christie’s most valued clients. Christine studied Art History and Political Science at Williams College.

Laura Betrian Waelbroeck
Associate Vice President, Client Relationship Manager
BIOGRAPHY
Laura Betrián Waelbroeck joined Christie’s Chairman’s Office in 2014. As Client Relationship Manager, Laura works to cultivate relationships with Christie’s new and existing clients, providing comprehensive support to collectors across diverse categories. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 2012 and her Master of Studies in the History of Art from Balliol College, Oxford in 2013, where she was a Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Scholar. She is fluent in English and French and proficient in Spanish.

Ben Whine
Vice President, Development Director
BIOGRAPHY
Ben Whine is Vice President, Development Director, Museums and has extensive experience in the museum world. Joining Christie’s in July 2017, he was previously Associate Director of SculptureCenter, a contemporary art museum in Long Island City, responsible for spearheading its marketing and promotion, media relations, audience development, limited edition program, and special events, as well as overseeing administrative functions. Prior to that, he was Director of Individual Development, Membership and Annual Fund at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Initially working on a series of major gift campaigns, he more recently focused on building a successful and sustainable broad-based fundraising program to engage and serve museum constituents. Over his eight and a half years at the Guggenheim he also managed the museum’s sales of fundraising limited editions, oversaw a major exhibition and online auction to celebrate the institution’s 50th anniversary, and led its patron travel program. He was previously Associate Director of Development for Membership at the New Museum of Contemporary Art and moved to New York in 2001 from his native London, where he worked as Patrons Manager at Tate, relaunching the museum’s upper level membership program as part of the opening of Tate Modern. He has a post-graduate degree in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester. As Christie’s Development Director for Museums, Ben identifies and delivers museum development opportunities for Christie’s in the Americas. Working with clients internally and externally at all levels, he defines Christie's strategy for institutions and negotiates and manages sponsorships and in-kind benefits.

Abigail Bisbee
Associate Client Relationship Manager
BIOGRAPHY
As Associate Client Relationship Manager, Abigail Bisbee supports the needs of Christie’s top clients as they build their collections. Abigail began her career at Christie’s in 2014 as the American Art Sale Coordinator, managing the department’s biannual live and online auctions and providing support with private sale transactions. Abigail attended Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service where she majored in Culture and Politics, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service. Following her undergraduate career, she earned her Master in Art & Museum Studies, also from Georgetown University and received a certificate in Art and Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.

Akilah Chandler
Client Relationship Coordinator
BIOGRAPHY
Relationship Coordinator, Akilah provides administrative and operational support to the team’s Client Relationship Directors and Managers to maintain successful client relationships with new and existing clients. She is an alumna of Cornell University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Fiber Science and Apparel Design Management in January 2017. She went on to receive her Masters in Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York graduating in March 2019.
