Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with enamel dial, painted portrait of the King of Saudi Arabia and ruby hour markers, bracelet in rose gold, in 1956 and its subsequent sale on 29 June 1956.

This watch has never been offered at auction before.

Reference 2481 was introduced in 1950 and was one of the largest wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe. The model was fitted either with the standard silvered dial but was also available with the cloisonné enamel version, depicting either landscapes, continents or portraits of famous personalities.
