marked Fabergé with the Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1908-1917
Rectangular, the cover applied with a silver plaque depicting the Russian double-headed eagle holding in its claws two crossed guns, followed by the embossed Russian dedication: '9 March 1 November 1916 To dear Vladimir Aleksandrovich Laiming from the workshop which he gave life to.' amongst engraved signatures of his colleagues and a further inscription beneath 'and 2253 lower ranks', the reverse with four silver knop feet, containing 31 photographs of interior and exterior views, portraits and groups, marked on cover plaque
The cover plaque 15 in. (31 cm.) wide; each image approximately 4 5/8 x 6¼ in. (11.8 x 16.1 cm.)
