Painted in the manner of Boucher with a little boy and a little girl, each in a landscape vignette within a gilt ciselé cartouche of grasses and flowers, gilt dentil rims

Lot Essay

Though the present cup and saucer are of different sizes (3eme and 2eme grandeur), they were certainly made together-- the decoration and marks are the same. Vieillard or the ground colorist likely picked the wrong size saucer up from the shelf before decorating them.
