A Shin-Shinto tanto
Meiji period (19th century), signed Kurihara Chikuzen [no] kami, Taira [no] ason Nobuhide
Sugata [configuration]: hira-zukuri, with no curvature, mune-hikushi
Kitae [forging pattern]: muji
Hamon [tempering pattern]: hoso-suguha
Boshi [tip]: o-maru
Nakago [tang]: suriage with katte-sagari file marks, one mekugi-ana, hira-yamagata
Habaki [collar]: single gold-clad and shakudo, each side with gilt-inlaid bonji
Nagasa [length of blade]: 29.3cm
Horimono [carving]: carved in high relief with Fudo Myoo standing on an altar of flames on the omote and inscribed Takeru on the ura above the hamachi

Accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Tokubetsu kicho token (Sword worthy of preserving) no. 93307 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword), dated 1964.12.5
