A young gentleman called John Keats (1795-1821), in fur-trimmed green cloak, blue jacket, white shirt and black neck tie
signed on the reverse 'Painted by / Sir W.C. Ross R.A. / Miniature Pain[ter] /to / The Queen / Waterford'
on ivory
oval, 3½ in. (89 mm.) high, gilt-metal mount with pierced ribbon cresting
inscribed on the reverse in ink above the signature 'John Keats / poet / 1795-1821.'
