Lot Essay

Albert Binquet, originaire de Bordeaux, intègre les Beaux-Arts et obtient une bourse d'étude pour Barcelone. A son retour, il se consacre à la sculpture décorative et collabore notamment avec Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann pour lequel il réalise les bas-reliefs ornant certaines portes de meubles comme celle de ce Coffre à Or.

Référencé sous le numéro 1502 (Ancien Référencier) dans les archives Ruhlmann conservées au Musée des Années 30, Boulogne-Billancourt.

Subsequent to completion of his training in Barcelona, Albert Binquet, a native of Bordeaux, who trained at the Fine Art School, returned to France and collaborated with Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann to create certain sculptural reliefs for furniture including this Coffre à Or.

This model is recorded under number 1502 (Ancien Référencier) in the Ruhlmann Archives, Musée des Années Trente, Boulogne-Billancourt.
