Christie’s Wine Department are delighted to host an exceptional upcoming auction of Wines and Spirits.
We are thrilled to present a pristine collection of some of the greatest Burgundies, from the cellar of a Scandinavian connoisseur. There is a deep selection of wines from the Domaine de La Romanée-Conti which were acquired directly from the DRC importer. Extremely rare magnums of Romanée-Conti itself, sit next to magnums of La Tâche and bottles of all the other Grand Cru wines from this legendary Domaine. Other notable producers here include Roulot, Rousseau and Engel. Outside of Burgundy you’ll find pristine Duclot collections of First Growths and mature Riesling from Prüm.
The greatest Bordeaux from the Right and Left banks appear, from the best vintages, such as 1982, 1990 and 2010, and many of them are offered in Magnums. Highlights include a vertical of Château d’Yquem 1918-2005 in bottles and magnums, Petrus 1982 and 1990 and an imperial of 1980 Château Lafite-Rothschild. This collection also contains Krug Clos du Mesnil 1982 and wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti; Montrachet 2005, Romanée-Conti 2007 and Romanée Saint Vivant 1989.
Rarities from special cellars are offered, including Château Lynch-Bages 1961 and Château Léoville-Las Cases 1961, unearthed from an ancient London cellar. A mini-vertical of Petrus 2010 &-2013 in cases is a signature aspect of the sale. Elsewhere, collections feature a vertical of Opus One from the first vintage 1979, a case of Petrus 1971, magnums of Château Latour and Margaux 2000 in magnum and Le Pin 2015. Burgundy is a highlight, with leading Domaine featuring. Domaine Leflaive, with their Les Pucelles 2016, appears as do wines from Clos des Lambrays, Mongeard-Mugneret, Confuron-Cotetidot, Domaine Tortochot and Simon Bize.
