Featuring work by the Impressionist artists in Paris to the notorious Pop artists of New York art scene, Christie’s 20^th Century Evening Sale traces the radical nature of art made from the 1880s to the 1980s. This season’s sale will present masterpieces from across the century, including works by Impressionists such as Claude Monet and Edgar Degas through to titans of the New York School, such as Mark Rothko and Willem de Kooning. The sale includes a strong selection of modern sculpture including seminal works by Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, Cy Twombly and Donald Judd, as well as strong representation of female artists including Barbara Hepworth, Frida Kahlo, Remedios Varo, Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler.
